Eliminar tatuajes blancos y henna permanente: lo que nadie te cuenta

Removing white tattoos and permanent henna

The new trend… or a future problem?

On social media, they keep popping up: white tattoos, delicate and almost invisible… or “permanent” henna designs that promise to last for months or even years.
But the reality, as often happens, is very different from the viral promise.

At Mikitattookiller, we’re receiving more and more inquiries from people who got these types of tattoos out of curiosity or trend, and now want to remove them or correct unexpected results.

What is a white tattoo and why doesn’t it always turn out as expected?

White tattoos use only white ink. They’re discreet, subtle, almost like decorative scars. Ideally (in theory) for those who want something different.

But in practice, they can cause the following issues:

  • They’re barely visible—or not at all—especially on fair skin.
  • Over time, they may turn yellow or darken.
  • Sometimes the body rejects the ink or reacts badly, causing marks or inflammation.

And worst of all: they’re not always as easy to remove as black tattoos.

Can they be removed?:

  • They are more difficult to remove with laser because white reflects light and doesn’t absorb the laser energy well.
  • A special protocol is needed, and each case must be evaluated individually.

And what about “permanent” henna?

Traditional henna is not permanent. It lasts 1–2 weeks and gradually fades away. But what many people get as “permanent” henna usually contains para-phenylenediamine (PPD), a very aggressive chemical that:

  • Can cause severe allergies, irritation, or burns.
  • Stains the skin irregularly or for a long time.
  • Is not really a tattoo, but sometimes leaves marks visible for months.

It’s neither a real tattoo nor a safe option.

Can they be removed?

  • If there is embedded pigment, laser removal may be attempted.
  • In some cases, it can only be faded, not completely removed.
  • Other times, it’s the skin that has reacted badly and needs dermatological treatment.

What’s the best solution?

At Mikitattookiller, we evaluate whether your case can be treated with laser, if a prior treatment is needed, or if an artistic cover-up is the better option.

Transparency and realism above all. If it’s not feasible, we’ll tell you straight. But if there are options, we’ll lay them all out for you.

Our advice if you’re thinking of getting one

  • Get well-informed before getting a white tattoo or trying “permanent” henna.
  • Don’t do it just because it’s trendy — do it if it truly represents you and you understand the risks.
  • Always go to professionals who use safe products and explain everything clearly.
